Star Trek: Pichard (R) is an American television series created by Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Kirsten Beyer, and Alex Kurtzman for the streaming service CBS All Access (later rebranded as Paramount+). It is the eighth Star Trek series. The TV show follows Jean-luc Picard following the death of Data and the destruction of the planet Romulus.
Patrick Stewart returns in his role of Picard. Picard is a former Starfleet admiral who previously commanded the USS Enterprise. Jean-luc Picard retired from Starfleet in protest when the Federation chose not to aid the Romulans when their planet was destroyed. In July 2019, Goldsman said the series would not be a direct sequel to The Next Generation and would be more character-focused than that series.
The second and third seasons are in production and the second season is scheduled to debut in 2022. For information regarding other programs please browse our section on how to stream TV shows and movies.
